That used to be on the back of SWMBO's car below the number plate, but we got told off by Officer Plod who said you cannot have 2 plates on the car, and rather than let him cast an eye over the modifications on the tourer, I just removed it. I tried to refit the rear fuel tank on Sunday, but I must have removed it up through the chassis when I had it apart as I cannot for the life of me get it back up between the springs.(I had a few goes at it and gave up and went for a little 600km ride on the bike as things were not going my way). I might have to resort to shortening the filler pipe and lengthen the filler hose and also cut off one mounting bracket and re-weld it back on after I get it up there as I will not be removing the tub again. I may even have to re-route the exhaust as well, but that's the least of the hassles to get it up there. Tune in next week!

    Cheers Ian

I got Smeg registered yesterday FINALLY!!. Took him for a run last night to pick up the 14yr old SWMBO from horse riding. You should have seen the look on her face when she saw what I was driving "priceless" With the noise in the cab,at least I didnt have to listen to the complaining on the way home. Car went well, but the low fuel light kept flickering on and off occasionally (with 1/2 a tank) not too worried though, also have a faint glow on the charge light I will have to investigate, seems to work ok though.

    Cheers Ian

Looks like the battery has given up the ghost in Smeg, the battery light on was only the alternator adjustment bolt working itself loose, fixed that with a nylock nut, it's been going like a train for the last few months, but my young bloke had trouble starting it the other day so we put the charger on, took it for a drive, came home, checked the output from the alt, all good, but overnight the battery was low again. One thing that puzzles me though is with the stereo we put in, $50 from repco, no CD player, but has AUX( for the IPhone),SD card and USB input with the radio, it will not retain the preset stations after you start the car even with a dedicated feed to the unit. The only thing I can think of is too much drain or a spike from starting wipes the memories. It's a bit of a novelty though as you have to crank it up when driving so you can hear it and then turn it right down again when you pull up at the lights so you don't look like a complete gooseberry, or a 18 yr old d*&^head with the radio at 937 decibels. The tyre on the bonnet lost it's air and managed to scrub some paint off the bonnet , so now I'll have to annoy the neighbours and get the air compressor out again. Might even have a go at the bulkhead on Ralph while I'm at it. Weather up here is cooling down a bit so it might be time to get into Ralph shortly.
