I wonder if anyone can help with this one. I've got a Series III (1976). I took it out for a drive a few weeks back along about 50KM's of corrugated road - I now find that my indicators no longer work.
Well let me clarify, when I select left or right on the stork the green light comes on (on the dash) and the indicator comes on (outside) but it doesn't blink (it just stays on 'solid'). The stork is virtually brand new.
I've got behind the dash to look at what's happening and there is only one cable connected to the flasher unit (see attached photo). Knowing absolutely nothing about this area I decided to do something perhaps rather silly. I rigged up a wire from the 'unused' connector on the flasher unit (and then connected it to a 'spare' connector on the main fuse connection 'bus'.
I can get the flasher to make a electromechnical click/clack sound but it doesn't actually cause the indicators to blink. I know I've probably just broken about 8 auto-electrician commandments doing that.
I can't find any loose wires that may have at one point been connected to the flasher unit - but giving the indicators were working fine before my trip I guess something has worked its way loose. Any pointers greatly appreciated. Cheers, Simon
mate going by me wirring guide you should have a green wire going in and a light green wire with brown trace coming out. so wich ever one is missing id be looking for that one and plugging it in then wraping some electrical tape round them all to secure them in place. the light green with brown wire will come from your indicator stalk and the green will go to the fuse box.
