I do how ever have in my possession the rear windows and sides from the before mentioned Katora wreck (had the Firewall as well but sold that, oppps)
To add to the discussion of how many Game's were built in total. I was always under the impression that the total was 250. This would still seem relevant if the numbering starts at 100 and the highest number listed so far seems to be around 330
Another Game to and to the list.
11/77
Chassis 90336144A
Eng 90230085C
Seq 259
Restored all standard except for Parabolic springs, extractors (don't think they do much) galvanised all the stuff that Leyland sprayed silver including the firewall and bulllbar and full leather trim.
Only bits not to get touched were the motor and gear box, both are in excellent condition, wish my rangie motor was as clean inside.
If anybody is after game stickers I have heaps, had a graphic designer scan and format the logo and then printed them using UV stable vinyl.
Just a warning to owners of old series Landies, never use ethanol based fuel, it will stuff you whole fuel system, corrode the tank, rust the sender and clog the pump and carb. I found out the hard way. During restoration used some fuel out of a jerry for trial runs, not knowing it was e85.
I don't think that "nobody in Australia wanted your Game" possibly nobody could afford it at the moment (was it the one listed at $12k ?).
If it was, I looked at it, wanted it but couldn't justify the price. Partly because the fun for me is in rebuilding a vehicle and partly because of my current financial situation.
Look around and you will see lots of Land Rovers (and other vehicles) being sold off at the moment as people's financial situations change.
The US pay top, top money for older Land Rovers and the fact that it was an Australian limited edition would have added value.
I guess its great that you got what you wanted for it but a shame that it's heading to the US.
Now my Defender Tanami is a limited edition, maybe I should advertise it in the US......
Colin
From our perspective it's not a shame 259 is headed to the US, but a blessing. Those of us who are true enthusiasts (who get offended when others call our old Series or Defenders SUV's instead of ORV's) have missed the opportunity to own these types of trucks due to lack of marketing or government regulations. If you want to sell your truck there's a good chance it would go here as long as it's in good shape, over 25 years old and makes it past the port authority (and crushers). :nazibanned: You guys have great trucks, we're just trying to trail in something other than Jeeps!
Not ever a standard diesel as far as I know.
