    IT'S Alive

MY 74 SWB 2.25 is alive.New fuel pump and she burst into action, and idles quite well.A little tappett noise I think, so will investigate.
Water pump and all other goodies are working, but cant get it out of neutral in transfer case, or clutch isnt engaging.New clutch, revamped 2A box.Seems odd, she moved under her own steam about 12 months ago.
Any clues.Must have a coldie to celebrate.
Now who wants to buy her now all the hard work is done!!!!
Once the new exhaust is welded up, will do today, she should sing quite sweetly

    Thanks for your help folks

Pull the inspection plate off the top of the transfer case should tell you immediately whether it is the clutch, and with a torch you can probably see whether high range is engaging.

Unlikely to be the clutch - although I have known the centre to break out of a Landrover clutch plate, so my best guess is the transfer engagement is not working, probably due to rust preventing full movement or a loose selector fork - mind you, I suppose it could be something such as a broken gearbox main shaft, and if it has a Fairey Overdrive fitted I would immediately suspect that, particularly wear on the drive dog.

Thanks folks, photos attached.Found the problem with transfer case, took drivers floor out,to check all levers and attachments, found rusty bolt, caught in lever which connects to case, preventing it from moving.Wow the gear change is smoother than i hoped for.
Im so pleased, so she got a wash, next is the tappets and then a new shiny coat of british dark green

    Another pleased Landy owner.
    Disco2 TD5 perfect
