Information on a 1981 sereis 3 2.3litre petrol wagon
Hi just chasing info on a 1981 series 3 2.3 petrol wagon that i am thinking of buying it has a lot of rust in the bulkhead rigger arms in the front. I have heard that you can get these cut out and replaced. Is there any other surprises that i should look for. any info would be appreciated.
thanks.

G'day All, Chassis outriggers are available from the usual suspects in Qld n Vic, hope thats of some help cheers Dennis
ps check the rear cross member common place for rust, also under the guards where the splash guards are bolted to the bulkhead, they fill up with debris and rust through, A pillars (where the doors hinge from) another rust spot, high on the firewall around the vents, door frames especially the lower part of the frame, (look for electrolysis on outer part of door skin, it will show up as bubbles in the paint, basically the door skin is then rendered useless), door tops especially at the front, bailey channels hold moisture which rusts out the door top, just about all over the vehicle, if it has rust as you say, I would be giving it a good inspection,,.
