Exactly and 'joys' isn't sarcasm, I knew what I was getting myself in for and I'm enjoying it. My only complaint is that I was hoping it would last until the end of the year when I'm working and not studying so I have a bit more time and money but...

Anyway job done now. I got a new lower lever ($100) and bolt and stuck it on and took it for a short test. The arm had moved down a bit, so as I suspected I needed a larger diameter bolt. The old one must have been the wrong diameter which is why it slipped off in the first place. Steering is quite astounding now almost as good as the camry I borrowed, well maybe not quite.

Thanks all for your valuable feedback
