Well I've only been a landy owner for about 2 months...what does bonneted control actually refer to? I would guess it's got something to do with engine placement (forward control??)
Thanks in advance

I always understood "Bonneted Control" to mean basically a 'normal' vehicle - ie. driver behind engine. As opposed to a "Forward Control" which has driver above the engine.
I assumed the term didn't get used much because that's what we usually think of; FC's being a special case.

Geoff is right - "bonnetted control" simply means a normal Landrover as opposed to "forward control"

So it is referring to the placement of the engine then?

Not really - the engine is in the same place in the forward control and bonneted Landrovers (in fact in the S2a FC the differences are very minimal apart from body parts) - the difference is in the placement of the driver. Hence the reference to "control". In the bonnetted version he/she is behind the engine (except for feet) but in the forward control he/she is alongside/in front of the same engine in the same place in pretty much the same chassis.

Ok...I didn't make myself clear, I meant the engine placement in relation to the driver.
Thanks John
