    Front Bumper Jerry Can Holders

I was just looking through the Series 3 in action thread pictures.

The landie in the Camel Trophy pic has jerry cans mounted on the front bumper.

Does anyone know if these holders can be purchased....and if so, from where?

Not a good idea, especially if they contain Petrol!. Imagine what will happen if you hit something solid

I think carrying petrol in cans (and gas bottles) on the outside of a vehicle is illegal in Australia but it may vary State by State. Water or diesel would be OK.
Or of course you could leave the Jerry cans empty.......

Maybe the cans in the picture are water cans?

Besides the fact of them being dangerous or illegal if this is the case, why put $30 worth of fuel on show for anyone to pinch? All in a convenient takeaway container. Usually secured by nothing more than a $2 padlock which we all know a jimmy bar will quickly dispatch.

Dont know about illegal but I have been carrying fuel on the back of my gs for years never had any trouble even on rego checks and 4 gerry cans on the trailer external holders. There are regs for how much you can carry inside the car. Petrol unlike diesal explodes by ignition not compression so not such a big problem if you bump into somthing unless there is a spark. My biggest worry would be crushing them as i use my front bar to push through the bush.
