I couldn’t find an answer for this anywhere, but we’re clearly not the only people trying to replace the bottom hose between the Holden red engine and a land rover radiator. So…

    My setup:
    ’73 Series III, originally 2.6 6cyl, now a Holden 173.
    Water pump inlet: 38mm
    Radiator bottom outlet: 34mm
    Length: approx 40cm.

I’m ordering a Mackay 3538406F flexible universal hose, should fit just fine.

Did you use an aftermarket heater tap? Can I adapt lets say a Ford type? and can 5/8 hoses be adapted to fit the standard Landy heater box?
Better off moving top tank inlet in radiator over to the side, single 90 bend then, nearly, inlet wants to lean down a bit.
My heater goes all the time,no tap, the heat output is so pitiful the only time you notice it is when a gust of wind blows through the fan vent, heater hoses are taken off the two cast outlets at the thermostat straight to the heater as it doesnt run a manifold heater, never block thoose two small outlets off, does horrible things two the engine temp control.
