Stoped in at the engine rebuilders today while i was out to ask about the 202 black head . He told me they are the same BUT they would still need to be reconditioned to use unleaded or gas ...BUT again i still recon the later ones where unleaded..
I got a price to reco them for unleaded or gas i nearly fell over $600 to $700 each..
To me thats a hell of a lot of addetive & i recon it would take a good few years to regain that amount of money..
I do know there used to be a kit you could buy for the addetive you would set it up under the bonnet & somehow it went to the carby & had a bottle of addetive in a craddle so it would be delivered to the engine when in use there for when the bottle ran out you could just change the bottle for a new full one which is a LTR bottle i think from memery..
The last time i had seen one of these was at super cheap autos so will call in there see if they still have them & how they work & set up, still gotta be cheaper then a reco head & wouldnt have to add the addetive so much would just have to keep an eye on the bottle which is ok as i check the oil & coolant every couple of weeks so to me this would be easier then remembering to add it at the servo..
Was looking around & can get holden V6 complete cheaper than a head reco would only need to make an adapter ring ...
Yes the black head is a straight bolt on job just some have a air port in the chamber that needs to be blocked with a grub screw..I'm still going to look more into it tho..
