    Newbie

    Hi All...posted this in the general thread and then realised I should probably have put it here...

    Just introducing myself. I've never owned a Land Rover before, but just bought a 1980 series III this morning and keen to learn whatever it is I should be learning!

    Thanks in advance for what I'm sure will be expert guidance down the track...

    As Tim said in your other thread, there is a GCLRO series run next weekend a bit of a tour and camping at maroon dam We should be there in 'zara'

    Hi Andrew,

    Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first Landy. I, too, have a 1980 Series 3 as my first (registered) Land Rover. Look after em and they might look after you, depends on their mood.

    Noticed you had a six-pot. I have a complete block that i took out of my Landrover. Carby and dizzy etc is all as-new. Only thing that isn't pretty/whole is the pistons so let us know if you ever need/want parts!

    That's awesome Brendon! Thanks mate. From what I've read the 6's are prone to mischief so it's great to know where I can buy the bits if/when I need to. In the meantime I'll try to be gentle with her...lol. Actually I still haven't taken delivery of the car...I'm waiting on my son to get home from Sydney so he can drive me up there to get it. He was supposed to be home the other day but his alternator packed it in and he's having a hard time getting the right part. Bloody Jap import...
