Where every tow truck is a Series III!
Currently in Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa), and noticed that every tow truck I've seen so far is a series III, have seen about 10-12 so far, cars must breakdown a lot around here! They wait parked in a line near roundabouts or junctions in the city.
Even saw two of them hitched together trying to tow a lorry pulling a 40ft container that had broken down.
Will try to get photos.
edit: found a pic on the net of one:

They generally look ok from the outside, but who knows what lurks underneath?
Most of them have a lean though, some to the right others to the left, lol. Think they're probably ex-army or police.

The Salisbury rear diff would fare ok for towing. But seeing as how series 3s won't pull the skin of a rice pudding unless in low range, I'm surprised to see the 2 photographed aren't fitted with free wheel hubs to prevent destructive windup when towing on sealed roads.
Wagoo.

There is a bunch of pictures of Series III tow trucks in BBC's thread 'Employment Opportunities'. I had a search but didn't get anything (anyway, I'm meant to be studying).
