2.25? Afraid not. Use your crank handle to turn it over. Its very simple.
Hey all,
Ill be giving Ron a good tune this weekend and wondered if it is possible to adjust the valves with the engine running?
My other car is an EJ Holden and adjustments are done running.
I've gotten used to it..
Cheers,
Ash

actually it is possable... but its no fun very messy and a lot easier to just do it by pulling the plugs, turning it over by the fan and then putting the plugs back after you inspect them.
if you dont pull the plugs, use the crank handle or a little more patients.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
As Dave says - it is possible, but it is messy and unnecessary, so why do it?

Just curious.
I found it annoying to do the Holden at first but then realized it is actually faster and less hassle.
You don't need to cock around turning by hand and its also more accurate. (I have a special dial gauge)
Ill stick with the normal method, Cheers.![]()
the older holden dealers had rocker covers with holes cut in the top for the socket drive.other wise oil went all over.when using roller rockers on post HQ engines this also was done.
often run engines using feeler gauges [nissan patrol-holden camteck] to find cam follower/cam issues or brocken valve springs.
Not that messy really.
You just put a splash plate in front of the oil feed and it all runs back down through the pushrod holes.
No mate, grey motor in the EJ - solid lifters.
Nothing as pain free as hydraulic ones.(red motor in the EH was first Holden engine to use)
Not only does it not need to be running, you can do them hot or cold, just as it says on the tag (assuming it's still on the rocker cover).
