    Hunter the Series III Utility

    Hello All,

I usually lurk in the REMLR section as I own a military truck and first joined this site and spent most of my time in the military section. On Friday I brought home a Fitted For Radio, Series III ex-Military Land Rover; and a Civilian utility who is called Hunter. Both Land Rovers are projects and are currently non-operational.

The Ute will hopefully be the first one back on the road because I will be using it to seek out (hunt) parts for the FFR and my two other trucks. I used to tow a trailer with my Commodore which is getting a bit tired of the extra effort and Hunter has a Nissan diesel fitted to it. So the Commodore will be retired from heavy duties. The ute has a 5-speed box fitted to it.

Hunter came with a full front clip as spare - mudguards, bonnet and full grille and radiator. It also came with two spare gearboxes. Hunter was made on 11/1975.

Here are some photos - some details of the FFR called Morse are in the REMLR section. Morse was made on 12/1980

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Looks good Lionel. "Hunter" appears to have a deluxe bonnet as well.

Yes - deluxe bonnets were in fact standard for 109s by that date, but dished ones are a bit like hen's teeth!
