    Series 3 "Game"

    Guys
I am trying to obtain more information on the series 3 1977 " Game" model.
I have been slowly restoring one over the last 7 years, and are on the last steps. The vehicle is no 164, chassis no 90333269a. It has all the fruit like tropical roof, bullbar, swigaway tyre carrier, dished bonnet etc. When I got hold of it there was only std l/r rims, I have since been able to get hold of 3 of the original rims, and would like to get hold of at least one or two more. Can any one help. My e-mail is smithrobert6@bigpond.com
    Regards to all

There has been a fair bit of discussion on the Game in the Series 3 forum under "pinnacles". Have a look there - there are several Game owners on the forum.

    Welcome Bob.

    I like the Games!

As mentioned there are a few people with Games on here, but they are pretty rare, especially over here in the West.

In the Series 3 section, if you do a "search this forum" for Game you get this: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/search.php'searchid=2663011

    Lots of info in there!

I do like the idea of the "swigaway" tyre carrier. do you fill the spare with grog or Bundy Rum for those thirsty outback expeditions?

    Hi Bob,

Welcome, I'm one of the ones with a Game here (actually two so it's even better ) . Great to see another one on the forum.

All the information we have is in the sticky post at the top of this series 3 forum. Have a look through it and if you have any more questions please ask. Put the details of the car up there too if you want. Would love to see some photos as well.

I can't help with the wheels, I have managed to pick up a couple of spares but don't know where there are any more at the moment. Just keep your ears to the ground and let people know you are looking. I think here were some either on e-bay or in the markets here about 6 months ago.

There were some on ebay a week or so ago - advertised as "Sunraysias" but were the spoke pattern that the Games had.

I nearly bought a new Game back in 1977 but bought a trail bike and a 54 Series 1 instead - now wish I had bought the Game.

Oh I did paint the Series 1 in Game colours though - didn't put the decals on though.

At first glance these look close but I do not think they are the same as fitted to the Game http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Land-Rang...item4aae990bc6

    Hi Garry,

No, the genuine Game wheels are a 10 spoke 15x8 and one of the differences is that the individual spokes are welded to the rim rather than being a cutout from a disc that is welded to the rim.

Except for mine. Mine are cut out from a disc, they are possibly not genuine though, I can only account for 29 years of its' 33 year life.
