Thread: Canopies etc

Hello from Brisbane.

I am considering fitting a new 3/4 canvas canopy to my SWB ute - it has neither an existing canopy or hood sticks which I am also going to need to track down.

I am pretty loath to question the quality of specific brands on a public forum, but was wondering if anyone has had experience with Exmoor products or service? A local parts outlet is selling Exmoor 3/4 canopies for considerably more than the UK price but less overall when shipping is factored in. Fair enough, there are are costs involved and profits are required to stay in business.

Reading the UK Land Rover mags you get the impression that Exmoor is the first stop of choice for trim products and beyond question in terms of quality. However, I have also read a few AULRO posts that were quite scathing about the fit of canopies that they received and the overall response of the firm to customer complaints.

Hence the question. Alternatively, does anyone know a local trimmer who would produce a canopy consistent with the original Land Rover specs in terms of materials (canvas), design and fit.

While I gather they would be fairly scarce here, any leads on finding a set of 3/4 hood sticks including the bits where the canopy fits around the rear window? The UK import price is around a gorilla after shipping. Added together, it becomes an expensive exercise.

I have used All Wheel Trim All Wheel Trim Ltd. | New and found their products to be as good or better than Exmoor and a bit cheaper.
