If it is 18 tpi and a standard thread size, then it could be 5/16" NC, 9/16" or 5/8" NF, 5/16" BSW, or 7/16" BSF. Measure the bolt.
hi guys,
I just picked up a series 3 ute that has a leak in the front seal of the gear box, the previous owner has taken the box out but has made a pigs ear of the nuts and bolts, im missing a few but the main and most anoying is the nut that holds the high/low transfer case lever on the front of the transfer case, it has a TPI of 18 but Im not sure what size it is.... being a english vehicle am i after a BSF thread? or is it a UNF or other thread? i need to track one down so I can get this old girl back on the road...
cheers

I'm guessing 9/16" UNF. Certainly will not be NF or NC, and unlikely to be BSW unless it screws into the casing.
