Hello John, Blknight others,
When I go to fill the oil cleaner bowl as directed by John, Blknight and others, do I only place the oil in the only within the inside concentric circle? Or should both the inside and outside circles be filled to the same level? I have looked at a couple of manuals and cannot find anything specific about which part of the bowl the oils should go in.
In the link about oil cleaners Blknight has a photo which has a caption that says - "pan ready to go back on". This does show oil both in the inside and outside concentric circles. Was filling both circles deliberate or accidental?
Is the inside - centre circle meant to be a baffle so the oil does not splash everywhere while driving across sloping or rough ground? Your assistance to clarify the correct filling would be much valued.
Kind Regards

series 3 performance check.
best performance check is to take the camper off the back and take it for a run up the bruce for half and hour. Should sit on about 54mph if it is running upto the governor. The half an hour should also give you a good indication if it is going to run hot, leak, blow hoses etc. Drop the oil when you get back and have a look for anything untoward.
Second test is to start on a cold morning within about 3 revolutions with a bit of glow. Ultimate test cold start no glowplug.
Love your 3 main crankshaft.
