Hi All,
I was going up a fairly easy sand hill and being the original motor I couldn't get up in 1st high. So
I put the clutch in to change to neutral and discovered that my gearstick was locked in 1st. I mean really stuck. Pulled it, pushed it, wiggled it, rocked back and forth, guys on the radio saying "MOVE!" it would not budge.

I'm not actually sure what I did (I just stepped, pushed, pulled and swore at everything within reach

) but
during one of my many movements I depressed the clutch and the gearstick slipped out like it never had had a problem. Hasn't happened again, yet. So I was wondering whether anyone else has had the same problem. I've got no idea what would cause the stick to freeze like that. I'm scared the same thing might happen in the middle of a tricky manoeuvre, could have an unhappy ending. It has a Series 2a gbox.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Lane
Oh, and if anyone in Perth has a Series 3 starter motor they don't need and want to dispose of I'd be grateful for a Pm.
