Thread: Filling gear box

So I was changing the oils yesterday and have finally accomplished an easy way of refilling the gear box. A $10 fuel bulb with 8mm tails on it from a ship chandlers (not the light weight supercheap ones). This allows you to bend the hose easily into the filler plug and pump oil in from the container, with a bit of ****ing about priming it as the one way valve struggles with the heavy oil, but when the bulb is primed it is an easy job.

I use a 1L Tom Thumb pump I got from autobahn, but instead of pumping it by hand I put the air compressor into the top of it.. Blows up like a balloon, but empties it in about 8 seconds!
