some truck cabs did have safari roofs but they were fairly rare, actually i think i have one with a safari roof I will take a photos tomorrow and see if the holes match yours
I have just salvaged an old series III truck cab.
My plan is to strip it down and repaint.
The roof is a bit different to all the others I have seen in that it has a number of bolts around the perimeter. Where these for a safari roof? (haven't seen a truck cab with a safari roof though...)
It will also need new seals and the rear window glass is missing (perspex currently)
If anyone has part numbers for the rubbers I need including quarter windows it would be much appreciated. I couldn't find the numbers in my parts catalogue.
Also any leads on the glass would be great also. Maybe I can get this cut locally?? They are just rectangles after all.

Paddock and John Craddock have all of the rubbers; have a look at their websites; unfortunately I don't have time this morning to look up the numbers for you, so it might be a quicker to buy a Land Rover parts catalogue.
Paddock also have glass and will ship it; Craddock won't.
If your car is un-licenced the windows will be inspected for compliance; unfortunately I couldn't buy one of the rear panes, so I have bought a piece of polycarbonate plastic with a letter from the supplier saying that is shatter-proof, so I will cross fingers at licensing time. Alternatively; someone on here might have a glass window for you,
Cheers Charlie
Wot one of these?
I have a NOS one of the tropical roof panels, but no it's not for sale.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Thanks guys
So they obviously exist...now to find the tropical roof. Sounds like I will be looking for a while.
I will check out paddocks for seals. I recall seeing somewhere that there are two different part numbers for the rubber seal that goes between the cab and the vehicle.
Also the mounting hardware seems to be hard to find also. I think Chazza posted this somewhere.
It'd be nice to do it properly with the correct bits, but I may have to improvise.
When I got the car registered I drove it in without any roof. Problem solved!
