Hi! I've just been on this learning curve in the last 6 months or so. I found ebay to be helpful.... google works well too I have a local LR spare parts dealer here in town.

Seriously though, I found that most stuff is cheaper from the UK even after you pay freight. I try to save up a list of things to get before I order, that way you can save on freight more and it becomes much more economical.

I would prefer to support Oz businesses but my budget doesn't allow me to

UK is typically cheaper but depends on the size/weight of the parts.

4 Wheel Drives in Melbourne carry both new and secondhand parts
    Four Wheel Drives

Seats will definitely be from the UK, about 100GBP gets you a DeLuxe set for a Series 3 you just need to check freight costs.

Totally agree with Debruiser. I have used the UK suppliers for most of the more expensive parts like steering boxes door locks etc. I even imported a complete set of seats from the UK at half the price I was quote to recover my original ones from a local auto trimmer!!

    I have used -

Land Rover Series L. R. Series - specialists in land rover, land rover series and range rover - gearbox, axle, transmission parts, spares and major units

Rimmer Brothers Land Rover Car Parts - Land Rover Spares at Rimmerbros.co.uk

and Paddocks Land Rover Parts | Range Rover Spares - Accessories | Paddock

All have provided excellent service. Be careful with BritParts as while mostly good quality there are some items that have been proven to be Sh-itParts for want of a better word.

I try to always source original Land Rover parts if it is possible as the quality is usually better but you do pay more for the privilege. Good luck with your restoration and post some images so we can all have a look at your Series III.

    Regards Warrick.

    Most places.

The freight makes the difference. I paid $363.92 delivered to my doorstep for a set of deluxe seats. They were $600 plus freight from Sydney. The local upholsterer wanted $1000 to redo the old ones.

Buying from the UK isn't too bad. I paid $399.92 for a full exhaust system for the Stage 1 V8 - that included delivery for a brand new 'off the shelf' unit. Some people I have spoken to here paid $600 and more to have their exhausts made. Just make sure you get a freight price before ordering - sometime some of the retailers have limited freight resources and it gets a bit expensive.
