    Ideal Wheels for SIII

It's probably been covered but I can't find a quick answer despite searching on here and online.

I wish to fill out the wheel arches on my SIII to give it more stability and a wider looking stance, and need new tyres anyway so thought I'd do both at once. I noticed Incisor had his wheels offset (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/1734519-post103.html) to move them wider.

I'd like to move mine similar (as wide as possible) but just stay within the body (I don't want flares) but I'm after the easiest option (new or second hand rims rather than having a wheel shop alter mine) even if it costs a little more and would prefer to stay with the same width wheel.

So can anyone tell me what the ideal wheel is for a Series III SWB and what tyre would go well with the suggested wheel (for a variety of surfaces including long freeway trips).

Currently have wheels 272309 and tyres 7.50x16 Dunlop (Road Grabbers rear and Adventurers front).

    Thanks

The good old "Sunnies" seem to be a popular alternative and I saw these on ebay to give you an idea of prices. No idea what tyres would suit, but I'm sure the tyre fitter will have the right info.

I've got the old style 130 rims with Michelin XZL's fitted to mine, they seem to have a similar off set to what Incisor has on his and fill out the arches nicely

The wolf rims or disco rims will give the same sort of look too, I'm not sure but you may have to extend the wheel studs though.

    My rims are 6.5" wide

Here's a pic of one of them compared to a standard rim to give you some idea of the difference between them

    Thanks Jerry

I've found some off a brand new 130 with Continental Cross Contact tyres and only done 1200km. They are the 'Wolf' rim (or at least look the same) so hopefully these will soon be on the Landy.

Looking at transport options... can anyone tell me how much roughly a new 130 rim and tyre weighs?

Wolf rims shod with 285/75/16's. Can't really fill out the arches any more with out flares and lifting I think. I don't have any issues with fowling the guards or springs with this set up.

It does depend on what sort of driving you do but this works well for the beach which is where I spend most of the time off road with my Series. Good luck!

    Regards Warrick.
