    Front Shackle Configuration 88"

After a very extended period of not having the car together, i have forgot how the front shackles go . I know the shackle with the big spacer/offset goes on the inside of the chassis with the spacer against the spring, but on the outside of the chassis the non thread shackle with the small spacer, does the spacer go against the spring bush or the chassis bush??

    Cheers
    Josh

    Hi Josh,

Make sure the spacer it is not too worn - a very slight groove does not matter. It goes against the spring bush. Just nip up the bolts, put the nylocs on and leave them a bit away from the shackle plate and take the vehicle for a run once you're mobile. Then tighten the bolts into the other shackle plate and then tighten the nyloc nuts.

If it is a while before you can drive it the idea of leaving the nylocs backed off will remind you to tighten everything up, including the spring U-bolts, etc.
Put it on your to-do list too.

    Bob
