My Compression Test Results: Thoughts?
Hi - dry tested and normal temp my Series 3 with 2.25 petrol (8:1).
The results are in from 1-4: 130, 130, 105, 128.
So cylinder 3 is a way out - head gasket? Have been trying to solve a problem where the truck dies in 3rd/4th gear and difficult to restart.

Could be as simple as a tight valve have you done your tappets lately??
Adjust your tappets and give it a flog up the road

Also a thought may bit of carbon under a valve, if it is head gasket 2 & 3 would be the same.I had the same issues and was told to try a bit of brake fluid down the carby.I ended up taking the head of and rebuilt it.I was also advised to put the deisel head gasket on as they last a lot longer time will tell I guess.
Cheers Will

Yep. Going to check valve clearances. The engine breather has so much steam it comes into the cab so may still be something going on there.

If you do a wet-test you can see if any of the pressures come up; if no 3 stays the same it may well be that the valves are the problem,

A wet test might help differentiate rings vs valve issue on C3...?
But havent I now ruled out the inlet/exhaust on the manifold as only 1 cylinder that is down?
