    Sunraysia rims - Offset?

gday, I know quite a few of you have the sunraysia rims on, Id like to get it straight, what offset is needed if I want to run the 31 x 10.5 - 15s. Do I need a +10 or would a zero offset suffice?

Not sure where and how offset affects the rim orientation? I know what the PCD is and means but offset is alien. local purveyor of rims says I need 0 offset? Someone else says +10 is needed. Can someone please set this straight so I can make an informed choice. Cheers Nighthawk.

    Nighthawk,
I'm running 31x10.5R15s on Sunraysia rims with +10 offset.
I don't believe I've lost any turning circle with these and I'm not getting any rubbing on the suspension. However, the tyres do stick out past the guards about 15mm and should probably have flares to make them legal.

Series Land Rovers were designed to run zero offset, at least when you factor in king pin inclination angle.

The Australian 5 1/2" rim 372309 has a +1/2" offset while the UK 5 1/2" rim 569690 has a zero offset. The Aussie rims need to have the steering stops further out and therefore a reduced turning circle.

Lots of tyre and wheel dealers think that all Land Rovers need positive offset because all the coil sprung Land Rovers and Range Rovers have positive offset.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Thanks LotsaLandies, will I be safe with 15 x 7 -15s with a 0 Offset? Considering they are wider than std rims and tyres. Will it protrude out the guards?

I thought Offset +10 would see the rim sit 10mm inwards to the diff side and a -10 offset will see the rim protrude towards the guard? Nighthawk.

    Hi Nighthawk

The offset only refers to the centreline of the tyre in relation to the hub face.

When you fit 7" rims with a -10 offset just over 3" of rim will sit inside the face of the hub and almost 4" will sit outside it and with 10.5" tyres you have to add 1 3/4" outside the 4" of rim.

Yes you will likely have a little tyre outside the guard but the inside of the tyre will be in about the same place in relation to the inside of the standard 7.50 16 tyre on 372309 rims so turning circle shouldn't be reduced.

    Offset wheels

Managed to get +10 offset 15 x 7 sunraysia rims at a good price. Now the hunt for tyres! Heaps of options out there ranging in price from $80 for a retread to $250+ for big name tyres and everything in between.
