    Carburettor Painting

    Hi Guys

Can you please tell me what is the best spray to use to spray the carburettor with, and do I need to prime it first as I am scared of the paint peeling off.

    Thanks

    Craig

    Metal Finishing

    Hello Themadmob,

There are some companies who will re-zinc a carburettor and rebuild and replace all the moving and perishable parts. This way you will not have to worry about paint ever peeling off. Plus they test the carburettor too

To find out where to possibly start go to eBay - dare I say it, and type in something like HQ 202 AUTO 23-3053 to get in contact with someone who could at least talk to you about the possibilities.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Hmmm Something is missing

    Hello Themadmob,

There are some rules about the AULRO site - if you are a new member and actually have a new to you Land Rover there is an obligation to post some photographs of your wee project

The sentiment goes something like this ...

Welcome to Series 3 ownership and maintenance.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    SLOw

    Hello Craig,

Since you are interested in Series 3 vehicles there is also another group within AULRO who are owners of Series Land Rovers who have lots of club runs and other events. SLOw = Series Landy Owners. If you scroll down through the main forum page you will find the SLOw forum area.

By the way - do you have a Pith helmet?

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Hello Themadmob,

As you have a hard-top shorty you may not have to go to the same extremes as the sans-soft top Col. Coleman had to take during Brisbane's wet weather a year or so ago.

BTW Col. Coleman is not the only SLOw member to don the pith. Oh I should follow my status as a researcher properly and do this bit ... Accessed on April 3rd, 2014 from Series to the Core see post 18th February 2013, 06:11 PM

Bet you thought I was taking the pith

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

No worries - a pith helmet is on my shopping list It is located somewhere just after I manage to get one of my beasties registered and on the road.

I just went for a look at the bottom of my garden and could not find a Series III short wheel-base anywhere Lucky you

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
