    Engine Suffix

    Hello Craig,

Locate your engine number and the last figure will be a letter and that identifies the Suffix of your engine.

For a six cylinder 2.6 litre engine the number is on the front of the engine block on the passenger side of the engine. If you magnify the photograph you can see that the engine number starts with 9411. I just hope that your suffix letter is a hell of a lot clearer than mine is on this engine.

For a 2.5 litre four cylinder diesel the engine number is still at the front of the engine on the passenger side. Locate the bottom manifold bolt that is closest towards the radiator. Just below this bolt is where a slanted surface with a flat face of about a centimetre wide starts. This face slants down along the engine towards where the alternator is mounted. The flat face is where the engine number - including suffix is stamped. I am not sure if the 2.25 litre petrol motors have the engine number in the same place. However the last stamp should be the prefix of the engine.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
