No I didn't.
So, finally got around to stripping the last of the old tyres off the rims. I've posted an ad in the Wanted section as 1 of the rims is different - a 5" rim P/N 231601 and 1 rim looks to be past it, although I'll run the sandblaster over it this week, but thinking I need 2 x 272309's.

Ok, the race is back on! Although I don't think I'll have a chance of winning the bet, I'll see if I can close the gap a bit. 👍😁
Spent the weekend cleaning up the garage so we can work on it again and today I got the last spring bush out of the chassis but I'll be buggered if I can find the last new one to go in that hole now so will buy one tomorrow.
I'll also be getting some paint tomorrow as well with some luck, so I can get the rims painted and it on its wheels again. Also started sanding back the firewall - it's in great condition so hopefully have that done soon as well. That's the next big milestone as once that is done, I can get the brakes finished and bled and move onto other bits.
Stay tuned!!!

I don't know Gav.
So long, to do so little.

And the race is on for what/who with exactly Gav?
Gav and I have a 'Friendly' wager, carton of Tooheys Old, who will finish first.
Win or loose, will have to head South to have my Beer or Gav's, with 'THE GAV MAN'

What rock have you been under? 😁
There's a bet running between myself and Whitehillbilly to see who gets theirs registerd first. The loser will be supplying a slab to the winner.👍. When the bet was made, we were both at similar stages so an even and fair bet. I got away to a good start, then dropped the ball and have been overtaken by a long way now, but I'll see if I can claw back a bit. I have a couple of things that will help I think, but will see if they pan out.
For now I have to concentrate on getting it rolling as the next big milestone.
Well, a bit of a curve ball has been thrown...
Have come across a Cabstar 5 speed conversion and Holden 186 which are now in my garage. While I don’t know the condition of the engine yet, if it is half decent and only needs gaskets, seals, cam gear, etc then it might get the car on the road quicker and cheaper. Top of the box was off when I picked it up and it looks in very good condition inside.
Clutch looks virtually new on the engine, under the rocker cover is clean - no carbon build up, etc around the rockers. Will see what is discovered after I remove the head and sump.
Ideally I’d like to use the box behind the LR 6 cylinder but not sure if that’s even possible yet.
Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, a tough decision - I still really want to do the LR 6 - I’ve got almost everything for it I need and I think I’ll end up doing it at some point. I have a high speed transfer case for the box too which would have made it a sweet deal on its own.
Although that would bolt up to the 5 speed... Wonder if that’s stretching the friendship on gearing...?
Still not sure...
And ‘buy’ is a little bit of a stretch... 😉👍
