75 series 3 electrical system question

    G'day,
I'm putting a SWB series 3 back into rego after getting it recently off a local farmer, but while using it as a farm vehicle, he removed the entire fusebox out from under the steering column. Means I still have engine, dashlights, 1 interior light etc. but lack proper headlights or anything else on the indicator stalk.
I did cheat with getting another box by just obtaining a rusty chassis series 3 on the cheap (No such thing as too many spares!), but would like to minimise the amount I'm going to have to spend at the auto electrician getting everything back up to scratch. Unfortunately the wiring has been replaced at some point in mine, so can't just colour code it. Anyone here got any experience with how to correctly connect up various wires to the box without using colour coding?

Whatever you do you will have to find out what colour wires or at least which wires have been used for each of the items you want to connect up. Then you can use the wiring diagram from the manual to work out where to put them on the fuse box. Even if there is no wire there for say the headlights you can put one in and wire it up to the right fuse. Actually scrub that, the headlights have no fuse in the standard wiring but you know what I mean.

    Cheers,
