SIII Expedition Roofrack
HI all,
I have recently purchased a 1979 Land Rover Series III 2 door LWB 2.6. I have fallen in love with it and want to make some small changes to make it my own, including finding a 109 Expedition Roof rack, or building my own. Any tips???
THanks guys really excited about my new rig

G'Day,
We have a '76 LWB. It has a roof rack with rear ladder similar to what is seen in the Leyland Brothers films- if that is the sort of roof rack you are thinking of.
We generally keep it off the vehicle because it adds so much drag and makes the vehicle top heavy, but we occasionally fit it in order to use the Landy as a mobile work platform. See the attached pic. It you want to measure it up in order to make one for yourself, then feel free to visit. (We are near Mt Barker, SA).
It's made of steel and it's so heavy we use a small chain block to lift it on and off.
