    Wiper Switch

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to remove the wiper switch knob on my SWB 88, as I want to change the switch ????
I can see a small pin/screw half way down the knob, which I would imagine would have to come out, allowing the knob to slide off the Hex shaft.
    Thanks

I've done this - a while ago on the Diesel. I thought it just pulled off. (Don't try it!).

    The workshop manual says:

"Depress the plunger retaining the wiper knob and withdraw the knob"

If no one comes up with a definitive - I'll go down to the garage tomorrow and take a look.
    cheers,

    Maybe be it is rusted.

    yes easy does it.

The one on the 88 wouldn't depress even with a pair of pliers . The one on the 109 came off beautifully. There must be a spring behind the tit (plunger) in the shaft and it just depresses and then you can withdraw the knob.

WD should do it - let us know how you get on.
    cheers,
    D

    Hello from Brisbane.

The OEM wiper knobs are extremely hard to find through most of the usual OS suspects (Craddock's, Paddock etc). I saw the eBay ad some time back but despite it saying Series 3 Land Rover I have some doubt that the shaft profile shown in the ad's photo is actually the same as that on the LR switches fitted in the trucks.

Interested to know if anyone bought one and if it fitted.

    Cheers
