I just emptied the flush so put the old and the new together for a comparison. Around 9mm - v - 12mm apprx.

Has anyone replaced the radiator drain plug with a new one (part 569047) ?
While I was putting in a thermostat , I wanted to replace the existing plug as it was a bugger to get off - bought the new part and it doesn't fit?! I'm possibly having a moment as I cant see any other option available - but just in case I need some kind of adaptor - thought I'd ask. As far as I can tell the radiators a kosher Land Rover job. Put it all back together with the old plug and put a flush through it and now at least I have a gauge that tells me somethings warm!

If the old one measure 9mm OD it is probably 1/8th BSP and the one the have given you might be 1/4 BSP if it measure around 12mm.
Just try a local plumbing shop for a fitting to do the job.
Just be aware there are both tapered and straight (parallel) fittings in BSP. Tapered seals via the thread, parallel will need a washer or o'ring to seal.
Link to a BSP thread chart here.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.
