    Meet Luke - A project in waiting

    Hi All,

    Well thanks to Gromit - I got the lead on a new project..

    (No - not the 6x6 - what was towed by the 6x6!)

    Mighty Mick Marsh turns up with the tow vehicle:

    We loaded Luke up:

    The 6x6 was noisier than my daily driver (but quieter than my 101 ).. I did laugh when I read this:

    And now Luke is home:

    Some interior shots - came with some new parts (for example - the missing brakes):

    The famous badge (2 of them):

    The engine bay:

    A MASSIVE thanks to Might Mick for helping transport the car back home... It certainly was an adventure..

    And my oh my - that 6x6 drove beautifully - very smooth, very strong and stable... I wonder if...

    Nice one mate - that's 3 Rover V8's in the stable now.

    Yes, the 6x6 has very good road manners - just one of the reasons one of those will be my next LR. Micks unit is a pleasure to drive - I've been lucky enough to do that on several occasions and it is always the highlight of my day when I get to do so.

    Hi Is Vic There,

    The basic plan:

    * Get the brakes working (all new components supplied - need to install & check)
    * Change all fluids & filters
    * De-commission the LPG system
    * Rust repairs...
    * Check the wiring - it seems that ALL land rovers have had the wiring played with!
    * Cosmetic - give it a good clean (outside, inside, underneath)
    * Cosmetic - Re-do interior (seats, door cars)
    * Cosmetic - Clean-up the paint (inside & out)
    * Get him on the road!

    I just have to finish Max (the Rangie) first...!

    Cheers,
    GG.
