Regarding master cylinders, which version do you have?

Apologies for delay in replying. I have the attached - it has numbers 4480124 on the side , that I can see - possibly more hidden. I've had no repeat of the problem since - but am avoiding steep hills out of nervousness.
    cheers,

That is the Compression Valve (CV) type master cylinder. I've had a bugger of a time replacing one on a SIIB forward control recently. It was a new master cylinder I bought about 5 years ago which wouldn't refill from the reservoir, ended up getting a second new (new) master cylinder.

A worthwhile retrofit is getting one of the pedal box mounted booster/master cylinders off the six cylinder or the very late SIII with the dual circuit master cylinders. This gives you the safety of separate braking systems to front and rear

Dinty did the conversion on one of his vehicles recently.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
