I know it's not Christmas but I came across this while looking for photos for another thread I started. Still it's a nice photo.

Aye it was cold. As there's no headlining on the roof, just bare metal all the moisture on the roof had frozen. If left outside in cold weather this is a common occurance. It melts once you are driving when the interior warms up and then "rains" down on the occupants. The joys of keeping a basic Land Rover![]()
Guyra, midwinter, in my Series 2 hardtop. At least it had a heater. But it did not have dual tanks. In those days there was only one place between Sydney and Brisbane where you could buy petrol after 6pm, and as a result I had to transfer fuel from a jerrican to the tank in Guyra in the middle of the night. By the time I had got the jerrican out of the back, refuelled, and put the can back, not only had the interior (and engine) cooled off, but the condensation on the roof over the driver's head had started to freeze.

Ah but look at the happy memories you have nowBet your series had a pull out filler neck like mine has. That's what made a Land Rover unique. Those odd things that you might never need but make life easier when you do need them. Makes me feel like a "REAL" traveller

oh ! is that what that's for. I just thought it was a filter. Will see if it makes life any easier next time I fill it up from a can. Duh....
cheers,

Me too. I also thought it was just a filter. So, I don't need to carry a funnel after all....![]()
