Thread: Wiper motor dead

Hi, my wiper motor sometimes work, sometimes not. So I disassemble and found one brush dead. My motor only have one speed, I know there are 2 speeds motor, I only can find the brush set with 3 brushes, can I use this spare part for my motor??
If I can my motor will work at 2 speeds?

How do you get the motor to run on two speeds ? Is that by installing the third brush ? I was messing about with an old toggle switch once and managed to get two speeds out of what I thought was a single speed motor (if that makes any sense) but cant remember how I wired it up. I should take a look inside.

p.s its stc1246 you might need - that has 4 brushes though.
