No I no longer have the complete car and in fact, as you'll see (above) I have already removed the swivels and CVs to use on Gog my SIIB so only have the actual axle housing (inner halfshafts and diff centre) left.

But if that's all you wanted happy to bring it up as ballast on the trailer, money not required.
Thanks for the offer but I will hang out for a complete one if possible.
Captainslows idea with the hubcaps sounds the go. Thanks Pete.
    I will keep looking.

I think the change of the stub shaft from 242520 (88) or 608023 (109) to AEU1827 from October 1980 will look the same as AEU1828 used in the Stage 1 when seen from the hub. So while a nut on the end means it is not Stage 1, absence of the nut does not mean it is.

Ok I have the hubcap off and its a circlip but I cant see enough through the oil hole to tell.
Now the outer circumference of the flange has a groove machined in it.
Did the swivel balls you took off this axle have a groove.?
If so that might be a way to tell Stage one balls from the others without dismantelling.

if you put the swivel to full lock to the other side and using a small torch or endoscope into the swivel oil filler hole you should be able to see if you have a uni-joint yolk or a CV.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
