Are you aware there is a location for 3 50mm gauges on the dash????
Its in the centre, the plastic trim covers them, the steel part of the dash is factory cut.

Hi Andrew, Yeah, probably just going to cut it all out to fit a stereo..... just kidding! Going to leave it in one piece for now, I really need to concentrate on getting it stripped, rebuilt and on the road before my attention wanders! (and I run out of money!)
As for a name, I've never really been a vehicle namer, I suppose I would call it Arthur, after my grandfather, although his nickname, (after his middle name), was Hack :)
Cheers,
Tim

Got the carby back from the rebuilder on Thursday. Will get it back on the car over the weekend. I'm very happy with how it came back, all cleaned up and with the throttle shaft bushed. (The casing was quite badly worn, it had about 1mm of slop with a new shaft).

So, started to pull it all apart today. It was a day filled with dirt, inox, trying to work out the imperial system, giving up on trying to work out the imperial system, lots of plastic bags, siezed uncaptured nuts, and finally that deep seated feeling of "this is going to be a lot more work than I thought".
Some more photos during the day:

These did not want to come undone, ended up going overkill and using a 3/4"drive Milwaukee impact wrench, (which just laughed at them):

Little bit of surface rust, but nothing to be too concerned about:

Some more holes in the drivers side of the rear cross member, an easy fix fortunately:
