I was thinking the air cleaner may be similar to this one...

What do you call that air filter?
Tool out the water pump today but mine is 7 stud while I bought 9 stud water pump. So it needs to go back and get the right one.
We noticed from one of the hole there are som oil coming out. Is that normal? It doesn't look normal but ...
I post the picture to show where the oil comes from. Hopefully someone can tell me why and how to stop it. Thanks

The hole with the oil coming out of it goes right through into an oil gallery - when you put a bolt back in that one, put a blob of sealant on the threads. :)
Not that I am aware of - but be aware that the engine was subjected to a continuous process of change throughout its twenty-five or so years of production, and there are some bits that are listed as "alternatives" in the parts books. And there are others that did not even make it into the parts books.
These may reflect simply changes due to different suppliers, or may reflect design changes, which in some cases can be for specific markets, or they may be simply options, which may have been specified by large buyers, or reflect the parts availability at a particular manufacturing site. For example, there are significant differences between what was standard for the home market and what was standard for Australian built vehicles at the same time.
And bear in mind that an engine or part described as 'military', is probably described by someone in the home market, and this engine or part may not have been fitted to Australian military Landrovers or may have been fitted to all Australian built vehicles. ANd very few people are sufficiently familiar with vehicles from both markets to be aware of all the differences if they are not in the parts book. Not to mention that probably every Series Landrover in use today has some parts that are different from when it left the factory!
I count 8 holes in the water pump housing.
Colin
Yes you are right. Its 8 holes.

I just got called from Graeme. Its off Series 2 engine and he cannot source it. The only way is to reconditioned. I can find a recondition kit for it. Is it hard to recondition ourself?
You need a press or a good vice. (or skill and confidence with a soft face hammer)
Got myself a brake bracket including the pedal and master cylinder with a booster and I thought it would be great. But not sure whether the non return valve will only need to go to intake manifold or it needs to go somewhere else?
Anyone can tell me where to route this or pictures are even better. Thanks. Gus.
