Series III 109 Underfloor fuel tank replacement
HI All
Ive just started on the landy journey with a 1975 series 3 109...first job is to replace the fuel tank.
I have ordered a new fuel tank and looked at removing the existing tank - any tips or photos or other threads on this topic? The rear nuts and bolts to remove the tank is proving a challenge.

The rear of the s3 tank generally have only one bolt which has rubber washers and sort of suspends the tank to allow for chassis flex as s3's have more chassis flex than a s2a. The said bolt has a large head and is stepped. Its usually 3/4" bolt with 1/2" nut, or if u like the little ones, its 19mm bolt head and 13mm nut. If it doesnt have the single bolt arrangement, then it should have three 1/2" or 13mm bolts and nuts holding it up. The nuts are hard to get to, but they can be done. U put the spanner up inside the rail and feel ur way to the nuts and undo them from the bolt. If they are extremly tight, then just do em up till they snap and put new ones in.
Cheers Rod
Just thinking this is not about fuel tanks in a wagon, ie 4 door. I dont know about them.
