Has anyone seen a functional purpose for the cut outs between the bolt holes on the top swivel pins, brake pipe clearance at some stage ???
Ive finished machining some new ones up ready to be hardened and I don't want to bolt them on and find the reason for the recess afterwards
The bushing material is doing a tour of NZ on the courier at the moment so it will be yet another weekend to get finished

If you mean the chamfering between the bolt holes, I think it is just to save on material and weight - since the originals are forged, it costs nothing to make them like that except slightly more complicated die making.

Difference between std components and stage 1
Pin is about 1/8'' shorter , and a 1/16'' fatter but it is the same size as the top of the std pin
The bush id is different to suit the std pin but the od is the same but 1/8'' longer on the top

To make a std pin, work machine end to same length as stage one pin, and machine an 1/8 '' off the top of the std bush housing remachine chamfer

There must be some reason the factory didn't do this so may be wear is a factor
