Should be OK.....hopefully the chassis the stronger than the modern dual cab as the outcome in some situation isn’t the best.
If it’s an airbag man kit it will be quality components and will be a straight bolt up.
Hi Guys,
I may end up posting in tech chatter but will ask here instead.
I loaded up the series 3 SWB for a trip - for the first time- & it appears the rear springs are pretty tired. I have polyair booster springs ( actually firestone) in my Defender & am really happy with them & I see Polyair have a Kit for series Land Rovers- part 99988.
Has anyone have these fitted? Any other brand out there?
Any comments? I've looked at re springing @ $330 or getting new springs, but this might be a better option. She sits pretty well unloaded.
Thanks, David

There is no problem adding these to any vehicle as the air bag fits between the strengthened bump stop and spring. The issue is when typically dual cabs with the large over hang, over loading the vehicle and not slowing down and not taking it easy over larger bumps and dips in the roads/tracks.
With the SWB you shouldn’t have this issue as you should be able to get a lot of the weight in front or over the rear axle.
I know that the last time I priced this type of air bag up from Airbag Man they were around the $880 mark + fitting.
You may still be better off getting new springs.
Thanks for the replies, the airbags would supplement the springs, I'll look at removing the bump stop, or, on second thought, see what the instructions say...

If you get the airbags it will tell you want will need removing
google Michigan Truck Spring. I have bought airbags from them in the past. good price, fast, efficient. I recall them showing airbags inside a light coil spring for leaf spring vehicles.

I've often thought about removing a couple of leafs and using the spring packs mainly for axle location, then slotting in some proper airbags for the height adjustable, smooth ride.....![]()
Hi,
at recent Cooma 70th the Forward Control --the yellow/cream coloured one built as a motorhome did just that I believe so must work ok ie he was using the leaves as locators and coil covered air bags--or maybe just shocks due to his weight. Maybe he will reply too.
Alan
Yes, the springs also provide torque reaction, important especially in low range - engine power is irrelevant.
