What about the Station Wagon rear springs where as they flatten out another couple of leaves come into play.
Rear Road Spring RH - 109 inch - Paddock Spares

I have these fitted to my Shorty but they are a bit tired. Maybe someone has some spares.......

My Series I has a coilover conversion done many years back. I guess the airbags are just a modern variant.....

The parabolics I have on the rear of my series 3 swb have an overrider leaf that comes in when the payload is sufficient.
They work well. It actually rides better with a good load in it and a load on the drivetrain seems to make for a quieter
ride too....if there is such a thing in a Series Landy.

    Cheers, Mick.

About five years ago I managed to get and fit a set of stationwagon springs to the rear of my 109. Together with oiled leaves, this makes the ride much more comfortable - with the military springs it was only comfortable with a really good load - probably at least 750g.

As it is now, the ride compares favourably with a Patrol rental I had a couple of years ago.

Ha, I had been developing this hair-brained suspension idea for use on a potential 2A Forward Control camper project.....
