Wow it looks amazing![]()
Because I have almost finished the Series III 88" I thought it prudent to purchase a distraction, both in time and finances :/
Flew over to QLD last week to pick her up and drive back home to Perth, but we only made it to Toowoomba before I decided to call it and put it on a truck. The car is pretty solid, only 113k kms on the clock, but a fuel starvation issue combined with a brake booster failure, and leaking water pump got the better of the journey. (i.e. I didn't feel like waiting on the side of the road for 7 hours while a tow truck rescued me).
Couple of pics:
More to come when it gets home.
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Johnno, for her age she is very straight and solid. There is a bit of surface rust here and there that needs attending to. The motor pulls really well, (until it doesn't!).
There is a bit of TLC before it can be reliably used:
Fuel starvation
Brakes (booster) Fortunately I have a spare reconditioned one from the 88"
Bit of a tidy up inside
Deal with the surface corrosion to stop it becoming a problem
Noisy input bearing on the Gearbox
Gearbox leaks
Water pump
Front crank seal
Washers don't work
Seats could do with a "freshen up"
Cheers,
Tim
Also, the service history is very comprehensive! And includes the original sale document.
And I need to update my sig...
Cheers,
Tim
Soooooo it was you who bought it Tim. Good buy that. Good luck to you.
Cheers Rod
I've always wanted one Rod, and this one ate away at me till I folded and brought it. Paid too much for it, but that will be lost in time, and fuel :/ I am amazed at how well it rides, (it's on parabolics), I hate to say it but I think it handles bumps better than the Defender!
A bit of work, and she'll be charging along, burning dino juice, and putting that LR smile on my face
Cheers,
Tim
Nice one bro, look forward to seeing this one come out better than new, like the last one!! (masochist)![]()
I'm hoping to get it on the road without too much rebuilding, just need to resist the urge to strip it down to it's last nut and bolt!
It looks like it has just been delivered by the dealer!
Cheers
