Thread: Stage one v8 engine rebuild

Just waiting on an updated quote for a high compression 3.9. However the company providing the quote has said that a 4.2 stroker kit is available, but they are having trouble getting info on it. Im still not sure wether to go EFI or get my twin carbies rebuilt.

I had my twin carbies rebuilt by a specialist at great expense.. Within 12 months both diaphram's had split and had to be replaced...

I replaced the engine with an EFI one and have been very happy ever since..

Get an Edelbrock manifold and a Rochester Quadrajet. This combination works perfectly on the little V8 and on much bigger ones. Real good on Chrysler Hemi 6 engines too.

Earlier posts discussed the colour of RAN Vehicles. All navy vehicles made at GM-H in my time there were Seacraft Grey which is a light blue-gray in appearance. Some of the trade names of colours are deceptive. Many reds are actually an orange. Brambles Red is an example being almost but not quite the same as Sebring Orange. Chinese Red is redder than Italian Racing Red which has a touch of orange in it

I rebuilt mine myself and they were still fine when I sold it 7 years later. I did have to buy an extra one when I stuffed one though. I will be doing my current ones soon.
