And on the P38 the spline is at the back. I think I am missing some LR logic here.[bighmmm]

Not sure about the use of the words 'Land Rover' and 'logic' in the same sentence.........
Does it make any difference which way round ? A quick Google search throws up some 'interesting' comments some of which are dubious.
Keep them at the transfer box, keeps them slightly higher and up out of the way.
Slip joint to the rear, stops crap getting forced past the seal (unless reversing offroad). The rubber gaiters overcome this but would instead get torn if seriously offroading, if they are **itpart they will perish first then fall off before you manage to get offroad.....

Just went and checked out my 2a, running the same GME springs but from Paddocks. Drivers side has the part number towards the shackle end, passenger side has it towards to front of the car. I don't recall there being any difference between front/rear or driver/passengers sides when i put them in.. about a year ago? They did move the diff forward like yours, maybe not so much though. Not sure what my shackle angle is on either sorry.
I also haven't had any problems with the front propshaft at all, maybe the diff has moved too far forward? I can take some photos of mine and report back tomorrow
G’day everyone, having the exact same issue on my landy with the front parabolics being too forward. How did you rectify the issue?
Cheers
