Wow , if people are willing to pay 20K for Series 3's I might give the Tray I picked up from a farm for $1500 a quick resto job and move it on instead of putting it on a Disco1 Chassis . Its in almost too good a condition to hack as the chassis is mint, still see factory chalk marks on it.

Have the galvanised parts been re galvanised, can't really tell but look like they're painted in the pictures.
Not sure Series III's are worth $20K yet but it is nice condition.

Thats about where Stage 1 's are and hae been for the last few years. At the moment, the Series 1 prices have gone off and the 88's prices have gone up for the last 2 years. The LWB's are not where its happening at this stage, my thinking is the S2 are cleaner than the S3 though. The Stage 1 V8 are often around $5 give or take but seem to selling sell faster than the other LWBs but slower than the SWB. I think the the Stage 1's will be the next to go off price wise though.Quote:

Even if you pay top dollars you may still need to be a mechanic, but that is part of owning a landrover.
The other option is pay more and buy a Puma SWB and you will have something a lot more reliable and less spanner work needed.
