I have to replace the accelerator cable on my 2.25 diesel and am trying to figure out if my linkage and cable set up is as it should be or is it some sort of customised arrangement. I can see from the parts manual there are 2 versions of the accelerator controls - one rod operated and one cable operated (see parts manual photo) . I have a cable version but it doesn't look like the one in the parts manual - I have bought a replacement cable but at about 50cms in length it is about half the length of the one that was fitted.

As per the diagram on the photo my accelerator cable travels from the linkage on the left side of the firewall through a bracket mounted on the mudguard and over the engine to the injector pump.

Does anyone have a diagram or photos of a 2.25 accelerator linkage I can compare to?
