    Welch Plugs.

    Good afternoon.
    Need to replaced a leaking welsh plug in a S3 1978 petrol motor, which is still fitted in the vehicle.
    Whilst doing it, I am going to replace all 5 under the manifold, with brass plug caps. 2 are an inch and three being 2 inch.
    I have the plugs and sealant.
    Out of interest, What is your preferred method of removal of the old plugs ????

    I used to try and knock them in on one side so they'd pivot and the other side would come out and I could grab it. Didn't always work though.

    Yep - big punch or even a 1/2" drive extension and knock one side in, the other usually then comes out a bit and can be grabbed with vice grips, etc if it's still stuck in the hole a bit.
